Come. Sea. Discover. Texas State Aquarium

What you can find at The Texas State Aquarium:

From the finned friends in Dolphin Bay to the sharp-eyed sharks in Islands of Steel to the eerie anaconda and hungry piranha in AMAZON, you’ll encounter underwater wonders that awe and amaze!

The Texas State Aquarium, Corpus Christi’s most popular tourist attraction, has welcomed over 7 million visitors. The Aquarium’s vision is to inspire appreciation and wise stewardship of the Gulf of Mexico.

Conveniently located on Corpus Christi Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from the downtown district, convention center, and museums.

It's AMAZON

It Slithers. It Leaps. It Sings. It Stings – It’s AMAZON, the newest exhibition at the Texas State Aquarium. Get up close with an anaconda, marvel at the colors of the exotic military macaw, check out the poison dart frogs. These are just some of the amazing animals you’ll encounter in AMAZON at the Texas State Aquarium.

As you enter the dark interior of AMAZON, you’ll stumble on to a smuggler’s camp.

Learn about the exotic animals that are being crated up for illegal shipment: hawk-head parrots, bird-eating spiders, tegu lizards – all destined for the illegal pet trade. Explore a dock on the banks of the Amazon, where piranha and freshwater stingrays are being staged for transport.

AMAZON explores the diversity of the species found in the rainforest, our connections with the animals and products of the rainforest, and the need to preserve this unique natural resource.

"Otter Space"

Watch daily otter enrichment programs and learn about otter antics.

Dolphin Bay

Dolphin bay is a habitat for Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. For an up-close experience, these amazing creatures can be seen from above and below the water. Guests can also attend daily presentations to learn more about the dolphins and see their high-energy behaviors. Ask about the Trainer for a Day Program, where participants can spend four hours learning to be a dolphin trainer and have a one-on-one session with one of the dolphins from Dolphin Bay.

"Islands of Steel" exhibit

"Islands of Steel" exhibit: Sharks, amberjacks, Tarpon and other sea creatures make their home in a replica of an offshore oil platform.

Guests also have the opportunity to observe daily dive shows, feeding demonstrations, and have a “hands-on” experience with sharks and stingrays.

Gawk at the over 250 species of animals that live at the Texas State Aquarium.

The Aquarium also has several on-site programs, school group tours, off-site outreach programs, teacher workshops, SeaLab programs, SeaCamp, and TSA’s Mobile Aquarium – “Ocean In Motion”. Contact education offices at (361) 881-1204.
