The Blue Ghost is alive with thrills for the whole family

Aboard Lexington your group will discover a ship, a people and a time unique in history - an unparalleled patriotic lesson. Commissioned in 1943, the USS LEXINGTON CV-16 served longer and set more records than any aircraft carrier in the history of the United States Navy.

Lexington offers visitors a variety of tour routes with something of interest to everyone.

Routes include: the Hangar Deck, Flight Deck, Bridge, Foc'sle, Captain & Admiral's Quarters, Sick Bay, Galley, Engine Room and more.

A collection of 19 vintage aircraft are displayed aboard the USS LEXINGTON, among them: a SNJ Texan, N3N Yellow Peril, F2H-2 Banshee, TF9J Cougar, KA-3B Skywarrior, A-4B Skyhawk, F-4A Phantom II, TBF Avenger, AH1G Cobra Helicopter, and F-14A Tomcat.

The special large format films in our MEGA Theater will take your group on amazing journeys of sight and sound…enlightening, motivating, inspiring, oh!…and entertaining. Each film is an exciting look at science, history or other illuminating stories of adventure and achievement. The only big screen theater on a Naval Ship in the world, this modern, comfortable environment immerses the audience in powerful, three-story-tall screen images and thundering digital sound.

For a uniquely thrilling experience, take a ride on Lexington's flight simulator where you will find yourself in the pilot's seat of a fighter jet through the wizardry of state-of-the-art video projection and hydraulic movement.

Touring the entire ship takes approximately 2 ½ hours and visitors should wear comfortable rubber-soled shoes. Personal tour guides can be arranged by calling in advance for an additional fee of $25.00 per guide (a maximum of fifteen people per guide).
