| The characteristics that make mesquite expensive and difficult to work with are the qualities that make mesquite furniture last for generations. |
They're an ornery piece of nature, with spindly branches, stealthy
thorns and sticky bean pods that litter the lawn. But those
aren't the only reasons to love them.
Besides ornamenting our lawns and parks with unusual
curly-cue shapes, they provide some of the hardest, most reliable
material for furniture and flooring - all the more priceless
because they generally don't grow in a straight pattern and
therefore require more labor - and cooking fuel sought by the
finest of barbecuers.
