10 No hills
Paul Iverson/Caller-Times The closest thing to hill climbing for cyclists in Corpus Christi is called wind resistance. Except for the bluff on the bayfront, Corpus Christi is flat. The lack of hills means an unobstructed view, less climbing and less wear on car transmissions. If you're a runner, it's easier on the knees. If you're a cyclist, you don't have to switch gears as often.
26.2 miles, one artificial hill: The Beach To Bay Relay Marathon, one of the largest running events in the nation, has one hill, the JFK Bridge connecting Padre Island to the mainland.
