My son is 23, has physical and mental handicaps, and is on SSI these disabilities. He works parttime and earns about $2-3,000 annually. He receives about $5,000 annually from SSI. We did not claim him as our dependent last year because we were told we had to provide 60% of his living expenses. We included the SSI money in figuring this out. Is that true? Can we claim him this year even at his age? He does not drive and we take him to all his appointments and to work. He filed income tax last year to receive his withholding tax of about $100. Please let me know. Thank you.
