I owe back taxes that are from 1983, and have a lein on my credit. I understand that they cannot collect after 10 years. Can they still hold my returns? How do I get the lein removed - penny LISTEN 5:44

In December 2004 I was awarded Social Security Disability Benefits retroactive to 1/03. The monies ($35,000)was repaid to my Employer due to Long Term Disabilty payments they had made to me since 1/03. Had do I file so as to recieve tax credits for these non-taxable amounts which were credited for 2003 and 2004? I need to file myself because H&R Block siad they would charge me over $300. I am a 75 yr old widow with a daughter and s/i/l living with me who is on SS Disability. I own my home,pay all utility bills from my CS Annuity.Do I qualify as head/of/household? If so, do I have to account for his SS income? Please clue me in as to what I need to be aware of. They have been told that they do not need to file a tax return and have not done so for several years. Since my health is not good, the situation is mutually agreeable. I received a Form 1099B from HRPT Properties Trust which reflects the following: Block 1a reads YTD TOTAL; 1b is the CUSIP No.; block 2 reflects $1,092.54 as gross proceeds; block 7 reads--HALLWOOD REALTY PARTNERS LP COMMON. I have not received the proceeds from that transaction since I did not mail the certificates in. Do I have to claim this on 2004 income taxes? Also, should I reflect a loss since initial value when purchased was $5,000?
