Paul Cass
Corpus Christi
1965 FIA289 AC Cobra replica

This is a replica of the Cobra that raced in 1965 that led Carroll Shelby and the Cobras to the 1965 World Championship. The car is Viking Blue with a red racing stripe. The number 50 is for Cass' 50th birthday, which is when he built the car. The car is powered by a 306 HP 289, AOD Transmission and 4:10 gears. Cass, a member of the Texas Cobra Club and Coastal Bend Mustang and All Ford Club, said he built the car in 1996 with the intent to cruise. Since then he has participated in numerous car shows, raced in road races and at the drag strip. "You get a great sense of accomplishment when you build something yourself," he said.
