Students learn about breaking a horse

by Andrew Garza
78415 Teen Media Scene

We all got to try to break a horse in the corral while we visited La Tierra de Caballo in Flour Bluff.

We had to hold a big heavy rope and kind of chase the horse around the corral. Then we had to make the horse stop running and then we had to pet it.

We also had to chase the horse around the corral by staying in the middle and shaking the rope at the horse. When we shook the rope at the horse it ran around the corral pretty fast. To stop the horse all we had to do was step in front of it and it would stop. We had to put out our hand as if we had food and the horse would come to us and we would pet it.

We had to be really careful when we chased him around the corral because if we got too far ahead the horse would stop running and go to you. We also had to act like we were mean if he didn’t listen.
