How to MAKE TIME FOR COLLEGE

Tips:

Don’t assume you don’t have time to enroll in college courses. Del Mar College offers a variety of flexible scheduling options ranging from telecourses to online courses to an accelerated program that can fit into your busy schedule.

Don’t wait until the last minute to complete and turn in your application for admission.

For more information about Del Mar College, go to www.delmar.edu

Work, family and other personal obligations? No time to attend college? Whether you need to earn a degree, change careers, enhance your professional skills or just want personal enrichment, Del Mar College’s flexible scheduling options will help you reach your goals.

Flexible scheduling options make it easier to fit college into your busy schedule. You can take fall classes on the weekends, off-campus, on television and even on the Internet. Del Mar College also offers video conferencing, paired and clustered courses that combine and explore the relationship between different subjects, and an accelerated program called Rapid Track, which allows individuals to complete courses in six weeks and earn an associate in arts degree in one year. Enrollment in flexible courses continues to grow each semester. In the past year, that growth included a 5 percent increase from Spring 2001 to Spring 2002 and a 15 percent increase from Summer 2001 to Summer 2002.

Whatever courses you enroll in using these options, course content and college credit are the same as for on-campus courses. All of Del Mar College’s academic courses are accredited and transferable to accredited Texas public higher education institutions. To see all courses offered this fall through flexible scheduling options, go to www.delmar.edu/ schedulefall02/flex.html

In order to register for any credit course at Del Mar College, you must complete the application for admission and provide the following: an official high school transcript or GED scores if you have never attended college, Texas Academic Skills Program (TASP) scores or scores from an alternate assessment and proof of Texas residency to qualify for in-state tuition. Early advising, telephone and web registration are underway and run through Aug. 13 for those students who qualify. Regular registration is scheduled Aug. 27-28 on the college’s East and West Campuses. For further information about admissions and registration, contact the Office of Admissions and Registrar at 698-1255, 1-800-652-3357 or go to www.delmar.edu
