How to choose an AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTOR

Tips:

Make sure that the contractor reviews how to maintain your air conditioner with you.

Check the warranties and make sure you get them in writing.

Find a company that will offer you a variety of brands to choose from. This will allow you a better chance to find a brand that suits your needs.

It’s summertime in South Texas, which means one thing: It’s hot outside. The last thing we want is for our air conditioners to break.

When it comes to buying an air conditioner, make sure to purchase one that suits your needs. Also, air conditioners need to meet energy requirements.

When meeting with a contractor, ask them about their business. Find out how long they have been around. See if they will give you references so that you can ask about their previous work.

"You want to make sure the company is licensed and properly insured. Make sure that the guys who are going to be working in your home are drug free, don’t have a criminal record, are clean, neat and polite.

"It’s an indication of what the company is like," said Clarence Neal, owner of Neal Air & Heat, Inc.

One of the most important things that a contractor can give is a warranty.

"You need to look at the warranties. Is the warranty in writing? A written warranty is one thing they should provide," Neal said.Make sure to ask about the company. A contractor shouldn’t hesitate to let you know about their business.

"For instance, find out how long they’ve been in business. Are they part of the Better Business Bureau (BBB)? Are they in good standing with the BBB?," Neal said. "Those are some of the things to look for." According to Neal, it’s also important to make sure to find a company that offers you choices.

"We offer four of the most prestigious brands in the business: American Standard, York, Lennox, and Bryant among others. All of these companies set rigorous qualifications for the companies who carry their brands and won’t let just anyone sell their products," he said.
