Fishing report for Saturday, November 10, 2001

For Saturday Nov. 10
   Aransas/Redfish Bays and northward - Redfish were good on piggies before the front in Carlos, St. Charles and Mesquite bays along shell reefs. Waders are doing well in these areas with soft plastics. Good trout are coming off the east side of the ICW near Estes Flats, between marker 12 and 21. Most are being caught on live mullet.
   Port Aransas - Sheepshead are starting to show up on the North and South Jetties. Trout are there too, but scattered.
   Water was murky green at Horace Caldwell Pier. Mostly bull reds, sharks and trout were caught this week before the front off the pier. Website: www.thepierhouse.net.
   Gulf beachfront - Driving has been difficult on Padre Island National Seashore. Fishing has been slow. Water was murky green at Bob Hall Pier. Water temperature was 75 degrees. Mostly Spanish mackerel, pompano, bull reds, stingrays, sharks and whiting were caught late this week off the pier. Check out www.bobhallpier.com and www.corpusfishing.com.
   Offshore - Red snapper in federal waters is closed. Party boats out of Offshore Adventures caught black drum, redfish and snapper in its state trips this week. Offshore boats and charters caught mostly blackfin tuna, shark and dorado this week.
   Corpus Christi/Nueces Bays -Very few anglers fished these bays Friday. Earlier in the week, trout were near the bridge on the Nueces Bay side and redfish were in the mid-bay reefs of Nueces. Most fish were caught on live shrimp and live piggies.
   Laguna Madre/Baffin Bay - Scattered trout, reds and drum were caught late this week in the Boathole, Emmords Hole and along the ICW, between Bird Island the causeway. Most fish were caught on live shrimp. Trainer's and Cos Way piers report catches of flounder on live bait during the day and scattered redfish. At Clem's pier, fishing has been slow.
   Choke Canyon Reservoir - Bass have been slow. White bass are scattered along the old Highway 72 roadbed in 15-20 foot depths. Crappie are near humps, points and dropoffs in the south part of the main lake.
   Lake Corpus Christi - The state park boat ramps are open. Crappie and catfish are being caught off the state park pier during the day and white bass at night.
   Coleto Creek - Bass are good on the main lake shorelines and near the island. Most are being caught on Trick worms and weightless Super Flukes.
