ROCKPORT
-LOWELL ODOM—
If the forecast is accurate, then the winds should remain calm. My plan is to target spawning trout in depths of 18 inches to three feet along windblown shorelines. I will start the morning fishing shallow with a Catch 5 suspending bait or a She Dog topwater plug then gradually move into deeper water as the day progresses. Because our tides are bulled up, fish behind the brake along Traylor, Ransom, Dagger and Pelican islands. Pretty typical for this time of year. Don’t pass up surface slicks. Fish them.

Laguna Madre/Baffin Bay
-KEVIN AKIN—
Get an early start throwing topwater plugs in the shallow back lakes of Alazan Bay targeting larger trout and redfish. Relocate around mid-morning to the deeper rocks off Starvation Point, throwing new penny Berkley Gulps under a Mansfield Mauler float for continued trout action. End your day by drifting the north end of the Badlands with plum/white Norton Bull Minnows for more redfish action.

PORT ARANSAS/ARANSAS PASS
— DEAN THOMAS—
Start out paddling in South Bay Flats or Hog Island Flats throwing topwater plugs such as the Super Spook Jr. or popper flies. Try to target an early morning falling tide and keep in mind that the midday slack tide has brought slow fishing. You should catch mainly redfish in shallow water and trout in deeper areas with DOA shrimp imitations. And if you get an early enough start you should see some tailing fish. If it gets windy, try paddling the Lighthouse Lakes area.

PORTLAND/INGLESIDE
— DON MILLER —
Start out anchored up or drifting the outside of Dagger Island for trout with free-lined croaker or with Berkley Gulps. Also try drifting inside Dagger using the same baits under Alameda Rattling Floats for a mix of trout and redfish. Later, try the East Shoreline for trout and reds using the same baits and methods. I’ve been having success in East Flats with shad in the pot holes for redfish. Also drift for trout with croaker under corks for trout there.

Freshwater(Choke Canyon)
— Johnny Harrison—
I would start the morning throwing a white buzzbait in depths of two to three feet at any of the main-lake points that have submerged grass on them. This should last about two hours unless heavy clouds move in, which would prolong this pattern. Later as the sun rises, I would switch to a Texas-rigged watermelon seed plastic worm and throw it along the outside edges of hydrilla beds. Target depths of about three to five feet in some of the same areas you fished earlier.
