Peoples St. T-Head We start our tour on the T-Heads. Peoples Street T-Head is a popular area for finding the freshest shrimp in the area. After long days at sea, the shrimpers return to sell their bounty to the public. While visiting, don't forget to take a tour of the bay and port areas aboard the Gulf Clipper or the Flag ship. These tours offer the best views of the area. Afterward, enjoy a taste of Corpus Christi at any one of the fine restaurants located right on the T-Heads while taking in the views of the skyline and the bay.
Selena Statue In 1995, the tragic death of Selena rocked the community and millions of fans all around the world. Several private citizens erected a statue to honor one of the greatest stars to ever come out of Corpus Christi. Many people visit the Selena Statue on a daily basis to remember her inspiration and pay homage to a Corpus Christi legend.
Heritage Park Corpus Christi takes pride in it's heritage by preserving it's past for future generations to enjoy. Heritage park is one of the first neighborhoods to be built in the area and has been wonderfully preserved for locals and visitors to get a glimpse of what life was like 100 years ago.
Water Garden Created in 1980, the Water Garden is the main centerpiece of the arts district in downtown Corpus Christi. Visitors are invited to stroll along its path and enjoy the serene sounds of flowing water. Surrounding the garden are the Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi Historical Museum, Harbor Playhouse and Bayfront Auditorium. Visitors can also take a tour of the Columbus Ships located right next door.
Cargo Dock 1 Corpus Christi home to the 8th largest seaport in the world playing host to cargo ships from around the world. Cargo Dock 1 is the proposed area for a cruise ship industry that's currently in the works. This area provides a beautiful view of the Harbor Bridge. Built in 1956, the Harbor Bridge has become the symbol of Corpus Christi.
Jetty Corpus Christi Bay has several jetties that help protect the city from heavy seas and storm surges during hurricanes. These are also used by the locals and visitors alike to gain access to some of the finest fishing spots anywhere. Take a walk out on this jetty to see a beautiful cityscape, as well as the USS Lexington. If you're lucky, you just might reel in 'The Big One'.
USS Lexington In 1992, the USS Lexington made it's permanent home in Corpus Christi Bay. Over the past 8 years, The 'Blue Ghost' has proven a key tourist attraction wowing visitors from around the world. Be sure to walk the flight deck and take in the beautiful views of Corpus Christi and North Beach.
