49 Water sports

Kiteboarding
   "You get this feeling of lightness once you run that kite out and get off the water. And even when you are on the water, it feels like you are flying. It all gets really quiet and peaceful for that six seconds you are in the air."

   Ocean kayaking
   Almost like kayaking down a river or lake, but add salt, choppy water to add resistance, and the occasional dolphin sighting.
   Scuba diving
   "Just imagine being under this huge amount of water, where we would normally be incapable of being for any length of time.
   :It is beautiful and quiet and peaceful. And we aren't even supposed to be there, but all the marine life down there just kind of welcomes you.

   Surfing
   Smaller waves but warmer water, almost nonexistent chance of shark attack compared to Hawaii, California, Africa, Australia. Bob Hall Pier, Fish Pass and Horace Caldwell Pier consistently produce good waves. The Texas Gulf Surf Association also holds annual surfing contests at Bob Hall and Horace Caldwell piers.
   Windsurfing
   Consistent winds here are considered some of the best in the nation. Already home to one of the largest windsurfing events in the nation - the annual Windsurfing/Kiteboarding Regatta - Corpus Christi will also host the nomadic 2002 National Windsurfing Championships.
