10 No hills
 |
| Paul
Iverson/Caller-Times |
| The
closest thing to hill climbing for cyclists in Corpus Christi
is called wind resistance. |
Except for the bluff on the bayfront, Corpus Christi is flat. The
lack of hills means an unobstructed view, less climbing and less wear
on car transmissions. If you're a runner, it's easier on the knees.
If you're a cyclist, you don't have to switch gears as often.
26.2 miles, one artificial hill: The Beach To Bay Relay
Marathon, one of the largest running events in the nation, has one
hill, the JFK Bridge connecting Padre Island to the mainland.
