Fishing Help Sheepshead Commonly called the "convict fish," sheepshead are ubiguitous around rock jetties and piers in the bays and around coastal passes. Easily caught on hook-and-line bait with natural bait, the tasty sheepshead average two to three pounds, but can reach eight to 10 pounds. Catching a five-per-day limit is the norm during the cooler months. Available year-round. Return to Fishing Page© 2000, a Scripps Howard newspaper. All rights reserved. |
