Boat fishermen will want to target the marinas and launch ramps where they can be close to the fishing action, as well as obtain up-to-date fishing information and a supply of bait and fuel.

In the Rockport area, the favored gathering places include Palm Harbor Marina, Cove Harbor Marina, the municipal ramp on Rockport beach, the ramp at the Copano Causeway and Goose Island State Park.

In the Aransas Pass area, there's the Conn Brown Harbor ramp, the municipal ramp near the airport and several ramps at bait stands along the Aransas Pass-Port Aransas Causeway.

In Port Aransas, anglers can head for the fishing grounds from the municipal ramp, Woody's Sport Center and Sportsplex.

The choices are most numerous within the city limits of Corpus Christi, including the ramp on the Nueces Bay Causeway, another at the L Head downtown and several along the JFK Causeway between the mainland and Padre Island.

Most of the latter are at marinas and bait stands such as Marker 37, Land & Sea and Trainer's Bait Stand.
