Pink bodies and unfeathered, greenish heads characterize these spatulate billed wading birds. A flock of them frequents the Oso and may be seen from the boardwalk in Hans Suter Wildlife Area. Indian Point is another good bet for a look at a spoonbill.

Males are muted scarlet, females mustard yellow. This species is migrant in spring and can be found in Blucher Park and Packery Channel County Park.
