    Alfred "Bud" G. Trube, a retired teacher, died Feb. 14, 1999. He was 77. Survivors include his wife, Caroline; three sons, Gary Trube of Greenville, N.C., Brent Trube of San Antonio; a brother, John Trube of Youngstown, Ohio; and six grandchildren. Art Alaniz
    LAS VEGAS, N.M. -- Art Alaniz, a retired B.A. Neuman Drilling Co. tool pusher, Army veteran and Baptist, formerly of Freer, died Feb. 15, 1999. He was 63. Survivors include his wife, Luan; three sons, Michael Alaniz of New Mexico, Curtis Alaniz of McAllen and Robert Alaniz of Carrollton; two daughters, Donna Beam of Rockport and Debra Alaniz of Las Vegas, N.M.; two brothers, Oscar Alanis of Freer and E.J. Alaniz of Marlowe, Okla.; two sisters, Sonia Alaniz and Elvia Stolzenburg, both of Houston; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at Garza Funeral Home, Freer. Burial will be in Hahl Memorial Cemetery, Freer.

Arthur B. Jock
    Arthur B. Jock, a retired civil servant and Navy veteran of World War II, died Feb. 15, 1999. He was 74. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Laurie Comparato of Conroe and Theresa Oglesby of Houston; two sons, Patrick Jock of Huntsville and Christopher Jock of Houston; a sister, Pauline Jock of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Aurora S. Smith
    Aurora S. Smith died Feb. 15, 1999. She was 76. Survivors include her husband, James; three daughters, Florence Cisneros of Pasadena, Mary Ann Bazan and Pauline Moya, both of Corpus Christi; six sons, David Smith of San Marcos, and Raymond Gates and Rudolph, Steven, Tomas and Martin Smith, all of Corpus Christi; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Cora E. Harmon
    LONGVIEW -- Cora E. Garner Harmon, formerly of Corpus Christi, died Feb. 15, 1999. She was 86. Survivors include a daughter, Luann Favre of Longview; a son, Jay Charles Harmon of Colorado; a brother, Ben Garner of Victoria; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. David E. Peck
    MATHIS -- David E. Peck, a retired music teacher, band director in the Mathis and Agua Dulce independent school districts and Army veteran of the Korean War, died Feb. 16, 1999. He was 69. Survivors include his wife, Brenda; two daughters, Carol Hudson and Diane Schulenberg, both of Casper, Wyo.; a son, Bob Thornburg of Casper; a sister, Betty Brunner of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Lester Peck of Roswell, N.M.; a half-sister, Deana Peck of Manitou Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at Dobie Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cenizo Hill Cemetery.

David Gutierrez
    David Gutierrez, an Army veteran and a Catholic, died Feb. 15, 1999. He was 45. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Candice Davistwo sons, David Gutierrez Jr. of Corpus Christi and Fabian Gutierrez of Belton; his mother, Molly Gutierrez of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Carol Mendoza and Rebecca Jalifi, both of Corpus Christi; three brothers, Alfred Gutierrez of Houston, and Armando and Arturo Gutierrez, both of Corpus Christi; and three grandchildren. Donald D. Hitchcock
    SAN ANTONIO -- Donald Dean Hitchcock died Feb. 17, 1999. He was 71. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Hitchcock of Irvine, Calif.; a daughter; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Gregorio Sanchez
    ROBSTOWN -- Gregorio Sanchez, an Army veteran, died Feb. 14, 1999. He was 71. Survivors include his wife, Josefa Sanchez of Laredo; nine sons, Gregorio, Jose, Juan, Armando, Ernesto, Mark and Greg Sanchez, all of Robstown, Mario Sanchez of Oklahoma and Claudio Sanchez of Michigan; nine daughters, Josefa Villanueva of Corpus Christi, and Alicia Garza, Maria Guerrero, Blanca Estella Gutierrez, Lydia Soliz and Elizabeth, Diana, Estella and Jessica Sanchez, all of Robstown; 64 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Guadalupe Leal Jr.
    MATHIS -- Guadalupe Leal Jr., a Catholic, died Feb. 16, 1999. He was 24. Survivors include his wife, Maria; a son, Guadalupe Leal III of Mathis of Mathis.     NEW BRAUNFELS -- Guadalupe M. Tamez, formerly of Alice, died Feb. 17, 1999. She was 79. Survivors include three sons, David Tamez of Corpus Christi, and Rene and Bernardo Tamez Jr., both of Alice; three daughters, Esperanza Salinas of Alice, and Irma Alvarado and Anita Stipnieks, both of New Braunfels; a brother, Amando Martinez of Alice; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Gussie Bowen
    Gussie Bowen, a retired Spohn Hospital registered nurse, member of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star, died Feb. 16, 1999. She was 85. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Hostetler of San Antonio; a sister, Alberta Jones of Corpus Christi; and a grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church. Herbert E. Fulcher Jr.
    ROCKPORT -- Herbert Eugene Fulcher Jr., formerly of Ballinger, died Feb. 16, 1999. He was 74. Survivors include his wife, Alice; a son, Herbert Fulcher of San Angelo; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. J.T. Wallace
    REFUGIO -- J.T. Wallace, a retired heavy equipment operator and member of First Baptist Church, died Feb. 15, 1999. He was 86. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two brothers, James Wallace of Dickinson and Gary Wallace of Waxahachie; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Jo Anne R. Crocker
    Jo Anne R. Crocker died Feb. 16, 1999. She was 61.     ALICE -- Jose Homero Vela died Feb. 16, 1999. He was 64.     Jovita J. Alaniz, formerly of Gregory, died Feb. 16, 1999. She was 67. Survivors include five sons, Salvador Alaniz of Robstown, and Jessie, Adrian, Robert and Moses Alaniz, all of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Laura Medina and Sylvia Torres, both of Corpus Christi; a brother, Jessie Jimenez of Aransas Pass; four sisters, Martha Alaniz of Austin, Agapita Canales of Corpus Christi, and Guadalupe Morales and Benita Villanueva, both of Aransas Pass; 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Leonard W. Blankenship
    ROCKPORT -- Leonard Woodville Blankenship, a retired Army sergeant, formerly of Richmond, Va., died Feb. 15, 1999. He was 71. Survivors include his wife, Laurie Jo; a daughter, Peggy Carroll of Plano; a son, Leslie Blankenship of Houston; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.     Maria G. Perez died Feb. 16, 1999. She was 78. Survivors include five daughters, Maria Minerva Hernandez of Miami, Maria de Los Angeles Morin of Corpus Christi, and Paulina Sosa, Catalina Lamas and Hortencia Garza, all of Brownsville; two sisters, Guadalupe Serna and Monica Gutierrez, both of Matamoros, Mexico; a brother, Venancio Gutierrez of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.     Mary E. Blunt, a member of Gardendale Baptist Church, died Feb. 17, 1999. She was 79.     Mary Simpson Craft, a retired employee of the Nueces County Clerk's Office, a Baptist and member of Daughters of the Nile, . Survivors include a daughter, Carol Kelley of Atlanta; a son, Robert Craft of Houston; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Tomasita S. Saenz
    BENAVIDES -- Tomasita Soliz Saenz, retired owner of New Cuellar Store and a member of Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, died Feb. 16, 1999. She was 68. Survivors include three sisters, Eliza Cuellar of San Diego, and Hortencia Ramirez and Hilda Dominguez, both of Benavides; and six brothers, Leonel Saenz of La Porte, and Liborio, Alonzo, Simon, Robert and Jesus Saenz, all of Benavides.
