    • Art Journeys Gallery: Through the year, series of exhibits associated with "Art Journeys" television show to be broadcast live from the Art Museum on satellite and public television. Featured artists include painter Robert Jessup, sculptor Augie N'Kele, photographer Jay Dusard and works from the permanent collection of AMST.

    Admission:$2, adults; $1.50 senior citizens; $1, children less than 12 years of age. Free admission to the Visitors Center, Gift Shop and Gallery
        Attractions include the Cottage Garden, Gator Lake and Palapa Grande, a birding tower and an orchid greenhouse. There are shaded picnic sites and playgrounds.

        Special programs include:

    • Wayne's Walk: Casual, informative walking tour of native habitat and floral displays with Wayne Hanselka, Botanical Society president.
         Oct. 16, Nov. 13. -- 7 a.m. walks
    • Visitors Center Gallery Exhibits: Allan Chaney, Nature and wildlife photography, July 1-Aug. 30.

    Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History

    Hours: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
    Admission: $10 for adults, $6 for children 5 to 12, $9 for youth ages 13-17 and $8.50 for seniors over 60 and active duty military with I.D. Group tour rates are available by advance reservation only
       The complex embraces the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, the Columbus Ships, and the Xeriscape Learning Center and Design Garden.

       Permanent exhibits include "Seeds of Change," "Shipwreck!" the Children's Wharf, "Reptiles of South Texas," local history, and a gem and mineral exhibit.

       Special exhibits:

    • 'Backyard Monsters' -- They're Bugs, They're Big, They're Robotic...this exhibit's giant robotic insects, are up to 96 times their normal size, along with interactive learning displays and one of the world's largest private specimen collections. Exhibit opens May 24 and runs through September 30.
    • 'Magic School Bus Inside the Earth' -- Join Ms. Frizzle and take a unique field trip to learn about the mysteries of rocks. Travel through a volcano, mine for rocks and minerals in a mine shaft and dig in a field to explore the surface of the earth's crust. Interactive children's exhibit opens July 12 and runs through October 30.

       Ample free parking is available.

    Admission:
        Permanent exhibits feature artifacts from the region's rural past, including four rooms furnished as they might have been from 1915 to 1930, all housed in a building once owned by the Coleman-Fulton Pasture Co. There is also an agricultural implement display in a completed barn behind the main building.

        Permanent exhibits include artifacts, photographs and paintings of the Texas coast, from Spanish shipwrecks and the Texas Navy to lighthouses. The museum also features a hands-on ship's bridge with semaphore and knot-tying.

         Every Tuesday, beginning June 3 (except June 17), the Aquarium will be open until 8:00 p.m. and children 11 and under will be admitted for a dime with a paid adult admission (limit one child per adult) after 6 p.m.
