The Ambassador Committee of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce has embarked on an ambitious year with the leadership of Chairman Bill Tinney and co-Chairman Christopher Lawrence.

To achieve this year’s goals, the Ambassadors formed six sub-committees. The Blitz Committee: goals are to distribute Chamber decals to members, share the benefits of becoming a Chamber member to non-members, and answer any questions members or non-members may have. Chaired by Stephanie Martinez of G&A Staff Sourcing.

The Feedback Committee: responsible for the communication between member to member, staff and Board of Directors. Chaired by Sandy Keiser with Thrifty Car Rental. The Relocation/ Newcomer Committee: assists staff with the relocation department. This committee has recently broken into three task forces to address individual areas within this committee. Chaired by Beth Padgett with Beauty Control Cosmetics. The first task force is reviewing and making recommendations on the look of the Chamber’s relocation packet and its contents. Chaired by Jane Stanford with Strategic Management Solutions

Another task force facilitates the orientations that the Chamber conducts every Tuesday at NAS for the new aviators. Chaired by Christopher Lawrence with Serendipity TPRG. The final task force works directly with the Newcomer or Relocation services in the area to assist them and invite new people in our city to Chamber activities. Chaired by Larry Drier with Business Interiors.

The Ambassador Special Events committee: helps coordinate volunteers for Chamber functions and sets up Ambassador mixers. Chaired by Kristen Anderson with The Apartment Guide. The Incentives Committee: awards the Ambassador of the month, quarter and year. Chaired by Maria Davis with Villa Del Sol Condominiums.

The Charity Committee: works to give back to our community in a special way. Chaired by Olivia Botello with Sitel.

The Charity Committee’s current project is called Mission 911. This project will serve as a community meeting place and an evacuation meeting place for the homeless. The committee plans to add beds, bathrooms and showers inside as well as repaint the outside of the building and plant a garden. The workforce will begin renovations in the fall. Committee Ambassadors plan to have the ribbon cutting ceremony six months to one year from now.
