A&M-CC professor gets history fellow recognition

From staff reports

Robert Wooster, author of 7 books on history, was named by Texas State Historical Association
The Texas State Historical Association recently named Robert Wooster, a U.S. history professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, as a fellow.
Fellows are association members who are chosen because they have demonstrated a special aptitude for historical investigation relating to the state of Texas through published works, according to the association.
Wooster is the author of seven books on history including "The Military and United States Indian Policy: 1865-1903." He was among three history scholars named as association fellows.
The history scholar has a doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin and has been on the faculty of A&M-Corpus Christi for the past 16 years.
His wife, Catherine Cox, also is on the A&M-Corpus Christi faculty.
The State Historical Association conducted its 106th annual meeting last month in Corpus Christi, with more than 700 people attending.
Almost $16,000 in prizes and fellowships were awarded in recognition of scholarship and leadership in Texas history at the association's meeting.
