Javelinas’ 73 kills halts Pan-Am
Freshman O’Leary’s 25 kills leads A&M-Kingsville’s attack in 3-2 win

KINGSVILLE - Kellie O'Leary led a 73-kill attack with 25 as Texas
A&M-Kingsville defeated Texas-Pan American, 3-2, in a nonconference
volleyball match Tuesday night.
The Javelinas took the games, 30-28, 22-30, 30-25, 26-30, 17-15.
The freshman O'Leary had a .113 attack percentage. Stephanie Briscoe
had 12 kills and a .259 attack percentage and Jamie Alvarado had 12
kills and a .235 percentage.
Another TAMUK freshman, Natalie Walther, had 54 assists. Corina
Garza led the Javelinas in digs with 15.
Sandy Darway led UTPA with 23 kills and a .321 attack percentage.
Shawnda McDowell had 37 assists and Darway also led her team in digs
with 19.
The victory is the third of the season for the Javelinas, and two of
the three wins have come against NCAA Division I opponents, the earlier
decision coming against Prairie View A&M. The Javelinas are 3-24.
UTPA is 3-15 for the year.
The Javelinas will be in Stephenville Saturday to take on Tarleton
State in a Lone Star Conference South Division matchup.
