NEW YORK - The restaurant industry might thrive on competition, but after the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center, restaurateurs are showing their camaraderie.
Hundreds of restaurants are raising money for the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund by donating at least 10 percent of their profits today, a month after the attacks.
The fund, established by David Emil, owner of Windows on the World which was in the Trade Center's north tower, and the restaurant's executive chef, Michael Lomonaco, will provide aid to the families of all members of the food and beverage industry who died.
