Comedians will perform in benefit for attack victims
NEW YORK - Chris Rock has been added to the lineup of comedians who will perform Monday at Carnegie Hall in a benefit for victims of the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center.
Rock is joining Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Cosby, Colin Quinn, Will Ferrell, Alan King and George Wallace for "Stand Up for New York," which will benefit the Twin Towers Fund and the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund.
Disney's '100 Years of Magic' being celebrated
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Walt Disney World began celebrating "100 Years of Magic," honoring the birth of Walt Disney.
The celebration is centered at Disney-MGM Studios. The main attraction is "Walt Disney: One Man's Dream," which features memorabilia about Walt Disney from the company's archives.
Disney, who was born on Dec. 5, 1901, died in 1966.
De Niro to be honored with lifetime achievement award
NEW YORK - Robert De Niro will be honored with a lifetime achievement award at Monday night's Gotham Awards, which celebrate New York City's independent filmmaking.
The 58-year-old is being honored for his "remarkably prolific" career as an actor, producer and director, said the Independent Feature Project, the nation's largest membership organization for the independent film community.
