Fashion motto: If it looks great, buy it

Her jeans were a $7 steal, but she'll break the bank for lingerie

Michelle Lopez, 30, looks to Salma Hayek, Reese Witherspoon for fashion ideas.
Michelle Lopez, 30, works for Whataburger's corporate office and is also a real estate agent. She has two children - J.D., 8, and Sadie, 6. Lopez is an avid concert-goer and has recently seen Janet Jackson, Aerosmith and took her daughter to 'N Sync. Watching San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys games is another favorite pastime.
   I would never wear...
A micro-mini skirt. That's just too short. You have to really watch yourself, especially when sitting down.
   My favorite leather pieces are...
My black pants and vest. I pair them with my black and brown lace top. I don't wear too many wild and crazy things. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
   My worst fashion advice...
Someone once told me to wear long skirts because they would make me look taller. I'm only 5 feet tall. I felt like I was wearing an extra tall trash bag.
   My big fashion influences...
Salma Hayek, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. Hayek and Witherspoon wear clothes that flatter them. I admire most of Aniston's clothing (except for her wire-frame glasses). They all have style and know how to dress sexy without going too far. Gwen Stefani of No Doubt also knows how to pull her wardrobe together.
You won't catch me dressing like...
Pamela Anderson or Carmen Electra. Their clothes are way too small.
   My favorite pair of jeans...
Low-rise, straight-leg, dark denim jeans from the Gap that I purchased for $7 during the summer. They have no pockets on the back.
   My next purchase...
I know exactly what I want: camel-colored zip up, knee-high, high-heeled boots with a pointed toe.
The most I'll shop in one day...
I'll go twice a day, all week long to Victoria's Secret if they are having their semi-annual sale. I could spend $150 easily in one day.
   My personal fashion rule...
Just because an outfit looks good on someone else doesn't mean it will look good on you. I like the way turtlenecks look on other women, but not on me. You also won't catch me in western wear or in the color silver.
   I can't live without...
My black Brighton wallet and my Dooney & Bourke brown signature series handbag. I saw it in InStyle magazine and went to Foley's every day until they got it in. I paid $250 for it.
My No. 1 dressing room complaint...
I always have a problem with pant length (too long). I used to buy the pants if they were on sale and then I would plan to get them hemmed, but I never did. Now, I'm in the habit of buying pants only if they fit perfectly.
   My most embarrassing fashion mishap...
As I was bending over to light a candle in church, my purple silk blouse caught on fire. When I finally got the fire out, there was a huge hole on one side of my chest. There wasn't enough of my blouse left to cover up. I was walking out with my arms crossed.
