   Jodi Lee Turetzky, chef instructor at Del Mar College, prefers kosher salt to iodized salt.
   "Kosher salt is coarser; you can feel how much you are putting on your food," she said. "Iodized salt is so fine that it's hard to feel and see how much you're using."
   Kosher salt also dissolves better than common table salt, she said, and gives many seaside residents a break from iodine, which is plentiful in fish.
   Turetzky uses kosher salt as she cooks, but said hosts could place it in a bowl with a spoon for individual servings.

   Pepperidge Farm Spicy Cheddar Goldfish Baked Snack Crackers
   Afternoon grazers, rejoice: There are new schools of fish in the Pepperidge Farm sea of snacks. Pretzel, white cheddar and spicy cheddar are among the new fish flavors. We found the spicy cheddar crackers to be a pleasing combination of cheese and zing.
   The nutrition label generously counts 55 fishies as a single serving; closet crunchers can justify the indulgence by noting that a serving delivers 8 percent of your daily iron and 4 percent of Vitamin A. Granted, it’s a stretch, but we’ll take it.

   Getting the recommended 20 to 35 grams of fiber you need each day is easier - and more palatable - than you may think. The following menu delivers 32 grams of fiber:
  

  • Breakfast: 1 cup raisin and bran cereal (7g); 1 banana (3g)
      
  • Lunch: 2 slices whole wheat bread (4g); 1/4 cup hummus (4g); 1 orange (3g)
      
  • Dinner: small baked potato with skin (3g); 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (4g); 1 cup strawberries (4g)
