Fishing report

COASTAL
   CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout and redfish are fair on live shrimp and croaker around the causeway and at the Oso Bridge. Trout and redfish are fair to good at the jetties and along the reefs on the Portland shoreline on live shrimp and croaker.
   BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair to good at the Tide Gauge, King Ranch shoreline and Rocky Slough on croakers, live shrimp and glow plastics. Redfish are good along the edge of the Intracoastal near Yarborough Pass on shrimp and spoons.
   BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good in the surf on Top Dogs and at Rollover Pass on live shrimp and tandem-rigged DOA Shrimp and white Little Fishies. Redfish are good in the surf on cut-bait. Gafftop, sand trout and flounder are fair to good at the Pass on live bait.
   EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good while drifting deeper reefs on glow/chartreuse, plum/white and red shad Trout Killers, Bass Assassins, Hogie's, Norton Sand Eels and live shrimp. Trout are fair to good off the spoil banks in the Ship Channel on live croakers.
   EAST MATAGORDA: Trout are fair on live shrimp and pepper/chartreuse and fire tiger plastics over mid-bay reefs. Redfish are fair around the Tripod on live shrimp.
   FREEPORT: Trout, redfish and sheepshead are fair to good on live shrimp at San Luis Pass. Trout and redfish are fair to good on spoons and shrimp at the Surfside and Quintana jetties.
   MATAGORDA: Trout are poor to fair on the south shoreline on red shad and pepper/chartreuse soft plastics. Trout are fair to good on live shrimp and croakers around the rigs. Low tides are coinciding with afternoon fishing.
   NORTH SABINE: Trout are fair on Top Dogs and Super Spooks for waders around the islands. Redfish are fair on live bait in the middle of the lake. Flounder are fair on shad and jigs tipped with shrimp in the mouths of the bayous.
   PORT ARANSAS: Trout are fair to good at the North Jetty on croakers, perch, DOA Shrimp and pumpkinseed/chartreuse soft plastics. Redfish are fair in the channel on mullet and shrimp. Offshore is good for snapper, ling, wahoo and kingfish.
   PORT ISABEL: Trout are fair to good at Holly Beach on purple/white and red/white Hogie's, Cocohoes Minnows and live shrimp. Trout, redfish and black drum are good at Un-Necessary Island on live shrimp under a popping cork.
   PORT MANSFIELD: Trout and are very good on live bait and bone/chartreuse Trout Killers on the grass beds off the Intracoastal and on the spoil banks. Whiting, flounder, kingfish and sheepshead are good on fresh dead bait at the jetties. Redfish are fair on topwaters.
   PORT O'CONNOR: Trout and redfish are fair to good at the jetty on croakers and live shrimp. Trout are fair to good on live shrimp and pepper/chartreuse Trout Killers while drifting grass beds.
   ROCKPORT: Trout are fair to good on the outside of Traylor and Mud Island and the reefs of Copano on live croakers and shrimp. Redfish are good on cut-mullet and live shrimp on the Estes Flats.
   SOUTH PADRE: Trout and redfish are good on red/white Hogie's, Gamblers, Norton Bull Minnows and Bass Assassins at Twin Bars. Trout are fair to good at the Gas-Well Flats on red/white and pumpkinseed/chartreuse Bass Assassins and Hogie's Major Minnows.
   SOUTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good from the Causeway Pier at night under the lights on live shrimp and white tandem-rigged 1.5" Bass Assassins and Little Fishies. Redfish are fair at the jetties on live shad and shrimp.
   TEXAS CITY: Redfish are fair to good from the deep holes on live shrimp. Trout and oversized redfish are fair at night from the piers. Whiting and gafftop are good from the dike on shrimp.
   TRINITY BAY: Trout are slow. Rains and runoff from the Trinity River have freshened the bay.
   WEST GALVESTON BAY: Gafftop, sand trout, speckled trout and whiting are fair to good from the beachfront piers on live bait. Bull redfish are good at the jetties along with blacktip sharks on mullet. Trout are good on live shrimp at Confederate Reef and in Campbell's Bayou.
   SOUTH
   AMISTAD: Water fairly clear; 85 degrees; 38 low; Black bass are good on Carolina-rigged watermelon seed sour grape worms and spinnerbaits in 20 - 25 feet. Striped bass are fair on Red Fins and topwaters early and late in 20 - 30 feet near the dam. White bass are fair on slabs way up the Rio Grande. Crappie are fair on live minnows up the Devils River. Channel and blue catfish are slow to fair on cheesebait in 4 - 20 feet. Yellow catfish are good on droplines and trotlines baited with live perch.
   BRAUNIG: Water murky; 80 degrees; Black bass to 3 pounds are excellent on plastic worms in 5 - 10 feet. Striped bass to 6 pounds are good on liver in 5 - 10 feet. No report on crappie. Red drum to 12 pounds are excellent on crawfish in 10 - 15 feet. Channel catfish to 4 pounds are good on nightcrawlers in 10 - 15 feet. No report on blue catfish. No report on yellow catfish.
   CALAVERAS: Water murky; 82 degrees; Black bass to 4 pounds are good on watermelon soft plastic worms and crankbaits in 20 - 30 feet. Striped bass to 18 inches are good on liver and shad in 20 - 25 feet. No report on crappie. Red drum to 26 inches are good on crawfish, spoons and Rat-L-Traps in 20 - 25 feet. Channel catfish to 18 pounds are good on chicken livers, shad and cheesebait in 25 - 30 feet. Blue catfish to 12 pounds are good on liver and cheesebait in 25 - 30 feet. Yellow catfish to 20 pounds are good on live shad in 25 - 30 feet.
   CHOKE CANYON: Water murky; 79 degrees; 22 low; Black bass to 9 pounds are fair on plastic worms, Rat-L-Traps and jerkbaits over grass beds around Callihan Cove, Mason Point and South Shore Park in 5 - 10 feet. White bass are good trolling crankbaits and working jigging spoons off the points and humps. Crappie are fair on live minnows in the dam area. Channel and blue catfish are fair on cheesebait fished under a cork along the South Shore flats and in the upper end of the lake in 10 feet. Yellow catfish to 10 pounds are good on trotlines and juglines baited with live bait and cutbait.
   COLETO CREEK: Water clear; 86 degrees; 97.34; Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on spinnerbaits and soft plastic worms in 10 feet. No report on striped bass. Crappie to 2 pounds are fair on minnows in 10 - 15 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 15 pounds are fair on shrimp and cutbait. No report on yellow catfish.
   FALCON: Water clear lower end - murky upper end; 85 degrees; 50' low; Black bass to 8 pounds are good on firetiger, red and chrome Norman Deep Little N's off rocky points in 4 - 14 feet. Striped bass are fair to good on jigging spoons in the lower half of the lake. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on cutbait and shrimp dipped in stink bait. The Zapata County ramp is open, but caution is advised when navigating around the old Highway 83 Bridge in the Arroyo Veleno. Launching in Falcon State Park is off a rocky point and a 4 X 4 is recommended, but usually not required. Mexican licenses and boat permits are required to fish on the Mexican side of the lake.
   SOUTHEAST
   CONROE: Water clear; 80 degrees; Black bass are fair to good on white spinnerbaits, Carolina-rigged soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps in 20 - 25 feet. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs along the shoreline brush in 10 - 15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait, stinkbait and cut shad along creek channel edges in 10 - 20 feet.
   GIBBONS CREEK: Water stained; 80 degrees; Black bass are good on white Rat-L-Traps and white/chartreuse spinnerbaits along the shoreline grass. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs along the shoreline brush. Catfish are good on stinkbait, cheesebait, liver and cut shad in 20 - 25 feet.
   HOUSTON COUNTY: Water cloudy; 82 degrees; 1 high; Black bass to 3.5 pounds are good on Fat A crankbaits and dark red or black worms with metal flake early and late in 10 feet. Crappie to 2.5 pounds are good on live minnows over brush piles near the pump station early. Bream are good on live worms over submerged grass. No report on catfish.
   LIVINGSTON: Water clearing; 81 degrees; Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow on Charlie slabs, hellbenders and pet spoons on the main lake. White bass are good trolling Charlie slabs, pet spoons and hellbenders on the main lake. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are very good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow on perch.
   SAM RAYBURN: Water clear to stained; 78 degrees; 168.04; Black bass are very good slow rolling spinnerbaits and vertically jigging ½ to 1 oz. Texas-rigged soft plastics in watermelon seed, green pumpkin and plum apple in 2 - 6 feet. Super flukes and wacky worms are producing well at first and last light. Crappie are good on jigs around the Hwy 147 Bridge in 12 - 18 feet, and over brush in 15 - 25 feet. Bream are good on live crickets and red worms over grassy sand flats.
   STEINHAGEN: Water stained; 80 degrees; 79.79; Black bass to 8 pounds are good on Carolina-rigged soft plastics, white Rat-L-Traps and crankbaits in 25 - 35 feet. Striped bass to 8 pounds are good on topwaters and crankbaits below the dam. White bass to 3 pounds are good on topwaters and jigs below the dam. Crappie to 12 inches are good on minnows and jigs in 15 - 20 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 23 pounds are good on liver, cutbait and shrimp in 20 - 35 feet. Yellow catfish to 20 pounds are good on trotlines baited with live perch.
   TOLEDO BEND: Water murky; 81 degrees; 170.89; Black bass are fair to good on white topwaters, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and Carolina-rigged soft plastics over matted grass. White bass are good on Charlie slabs, spoons and white spinnerbaits along river channel sand bars, roadbeds, sloughs and main lake points in 25 - 35 feet. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs along the creek channels in 15 - 20 feet. Bream are good on live crickets and nightcrawlers in 10 - 15 feet.
