Draft held for Bay Ball celebrity game

Local names to play in basketball tourney

The celebrity game draft for the 13th annual Bay Ball Ballyhoop was held Wednesday morning at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
   Captain for the Pepsi team was Sheriff Larry Olivarez Jr. and leading the Domino's team was A&M-CC athletic director Dan Viola.
   Among the people being drafted were local politicians, businessmen, DJ's, journalists and IceRays players, among others.
   The celebrity game will be played July 28 at noon at A&M-CC.
   The rosters are as follows:
   Domino's - Carlos Valdez, District Attorney; Brent Chesney, attorney and city council; Richard Tijerina, Caller-Times sports editor; Roland Rodriguez, Channel 10; Jay Wise, Merrill Lynch; Scott Johnson, KMXR 93.9; Steven Rudy, KRYS K-99; Jesse Noyola, city council; Hugo Marciales, KORO sports director; Dave Johnson, KIII Channel 3; Jeff Paluseo, IceRays; Johnny Palacios, KORO director; Matt Young, Caller-Times sports writer; John Fromme, KRIS Channel 6; Phil Sokolov, Channel 10; Levi West, KORO operations; Fred Beck, Channel 10; Daniel Dain, Domino's; Michelle Mauck, Channel 10.
