   Barbara A. Aleman
   ROCKPORT - Barbara Ann Aleman, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, died Jan. 20, 2001. She was 42.
   Survivors include her husband, John; a son, Robert Aleman of Rockport; a daughter, Ashley Aleman of Rockport; and two sisters, Sandy Reyna and Roberta Culpepper, both of Cocoa Beach, Fla.
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
  
   Hector Cantu
   Hector Cantu died Jan. 19, 2001. He was 70.
   Survivors include his wife, Andrea; two daughters, Lillian Pesina and Hope Cantu, both of Corpus Christi; two sons, Juan Cantu of Houston and Christopher Cantu of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Maria DeLeon and Aurora Cadena, both of Corpus Christi, and Calla Lucio of Laredo; a brother, Leopardo Cantu of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
   Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Jan. 22 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

   Maria I. Garza
   BENAVIDES - Maria Imelda Garza, a member of Santa Rose De Lima Catholic Church, died Jan. 20, 2001. She was 53.
   Survivors include her husband, George; four sons, George Garza Jr. of Benavides, Ricardo Garza of Robstown, Juan Garza of Corpus Christi, and Adrian Garza of Freer; a daughter, Elsa Hernandez of Benavides; a brother, Olivero Carrillo of Benavides; three sisters, Humbelina Guerra of Alice, Juanita Pena of Benavides, and Cristina Chapa of Little Rock, Ark.; and 11 grandchildren.
   Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at Garza Funeral Home, San Diego. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Jan. 23 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Burial will be in Benavides Cemetery.
  
   Etta L. Graham
   Etta L. Graham died Jan. 18, 2001.
   Survivors include two daughters, Betty Estes and Laura Williams, both of Corpus Christi; one sister, Thelma Stivers of South Carolina; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
   Services will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 22 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

   Ernest Lockman died Jan. 19, 2001. He was 88.
   Survivors include a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Maxim of Arkville, N.Y.

   ODEM - Leandro T. Ortiz, a retired farmer, died Jan. 20, 2001. He was 83.
   Survivors include his wife, Rosa; two sons, Edward Ortiz of Odem and Jesus Ortiz of Tyler; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
   Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home, Sinton. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Jan. 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in San Pedro Cemetery.
  
   William O. Poole
   ALICE - William Oliver Poole, a former pilot in the Air Force, former commercial pilot, former employee of Appell Drilling Co., founder of Choya Drilling Co., former member of the board of directors of Alice National Bank, Corpus Christi Bank & Trust, and Central Park Bank of San Antonio, a school trustee for Alice Independent School District, former president of City-County Airport Board in Alice, died Jan. 20, 2001. He was 83.
   Survivors include his wife, Evalyn of Bandera; four daughters, George Ann Aycock of Bandera; Cyndy Zachry of Ingram, Prissy Urban of Pleasant, and Patty Foster of Alice; a sister, Eugenia Norris of Ruskin, Fla.; a brother, Stanley Poole of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
   Services will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 23 at Morningside Drive Church of Christ. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

   Juan Jose "J.J." Ramirez, a former equipment operator with the City of Corpus Christi, died Jan. 20, 2001. He was 51.
   Survivors include his wife, Olga; a daughter, Monica Ramirez of Corpus Christi; his stepmother, Ramona Ramirez of Corpus Christi; a brother, Samuel Ramirez of Corpus Christi; and a sister, Teresa Villarreal of San Benito.
   Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Jan. 22 at St. James Catholic Church, Driscoll. Burial will be in De La Luz Cemetery, Driscoll.

   PORTLAND - Gladys Thelma Ray, a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ, died Jan. 20, 2001. She was 93.
   Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann French of Portland; two sons, Charles and Jim Ray, both of Portland; 13 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 in San Patricio Memorial Gardens.

   Pablo H. Rubio Sr., a pastor, died Jan. 19, 2001. He was 67.

   HEBBRONVILLE - Santiago Valdez, a rancher and farmer, died Jan. 19, 2001. He was 85.
   Survivors include his wife, Antonia; two stepsons, Basilio and Julio Galvan Jr., both of Hebbronville; five stepdaughters, Anna Flores of Mathis, Melecia Arredondo, Griselda Mendieta, Maria Dominguez of Hebbronville, and Irma Vidaurri of Lubbock; three sisters, Maria Hinojosa of Hebbronville, and Elma Corona and Elva Saenz, both of Corpus Christi; a brother, Alfonso Valdez of Hebbronville; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
