From staff and correspondent reports

ODESSA - Odessa scored four unanswered goals in the first 13 minutes of play Tuesday night and went on to defeat the Corpus Christi Icerays, 6-4, in a Western Professional Hockey League game.
The loss slipped the IceRays further back from third-place Tupelo in the Eastern Division standings. The T-Rex beat Monroe, 4-1, and moved to a seven-point advantage over the IceRays, 66-59.
Corpus Christi remains two points ahead of Monroe for fourth place.
John Bossio, Konrad McKay and Scott Campbell scored goals as Odessa opened a 4-0 lead. McKay's second goal came on a power play 12 minutes, 44 seconds into the period.
The Jackalopes' Grant Sjerven stopped 36 shots to earn his 21st win, tying him with Amarillo's Todd MacDonald for second overall in the WPHL.
Brad Wingfield scored twice and had an assist for Corpus Christi.
The IceRays could draw no closer than two goals throughout. Jeff Cheeseman's goal of assists from Wingfield and Mario Dumoulin brought Corpus Christi to within 4-2 early in the second period.
But Derek Laxdal's goal four minutes later restored Odessa's lead to 5-2.
Alex Kholomeyev scored less than six minutes into the final period, cutting Corpus Christi's deficit to 5-3. Wingfield's final goal off an assist from Kholomeyev came with 1:46 remaining.
