A&M-CC grabs 4 of 6 singles matches to beat UL-M, 5-2

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi captured four of six singles matches to post a 5-2 victory over the University of Louisiana-Monroe in men's tennis action Saturday evening.
The Islanders, now 4-2 on the year, received straight set singles wins from Stuart Beauchamp (Hobart, Tasmania), Eusebie Oprea (Bucharest, Romania) and Tanner Payne (Lubbock). Paul McInerney had to go to a third set to gain a point for A&M-Corpus Christi.
Beauchamp defeated Rob Bailey 6-2, 6-3 at number two; McInerney defeated Bartosz Dombroski 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 at number three; Oprea downed Jaime Pombo 6-3, 6-4 at the four spot, while Payne dumped Taylor Vaughan 6-2, 6-2 at number six.
For the third consecutive time on the roadtrip, the Islanders got off to a quick start by sweeping the doubles matches. The tandem of Beauchamp and McInerney led the charge with a convincing 8-3 decision over Bailey and Dombroski at the top spot of the doubles lineup.

FRIDAY: Arkansas won five of six singles matches en route to posting a 5-2 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday evening.
For the second consecutive match, the Islanders got off to a quick start by winning the doubles point over the 70th-ranked Razorbacks.
Arkansas came roaring back to win the next five matches to post the win.
