From staff and correspondent reports

CANYON - West Texas A&M, picked to win the Lone Star Conference South Division in the league's preseason poll, snapped Texas A&M-Kingsville's 17-game victory streak with a 64-58 win Thursday night.
The Javelinas, ranked No. 10 in NCAA Division II and first in the NCAA South Central Region, had not lost since November and included in the victory streak was an earlier decision over West Texas A&M in Canyon.

West Texas had a 29-21 halftime lead but the Javelinas threatened throughout the second half.
West Texas rode its free-throw shooting to the victory. The Lady Buffs hit 17 of 27 free-throw attempts while the Javelinas went to the line only nine times, and hit four.
Precious Thibodeaux led the Javelinas in scoring with 14 points.
Former Ray High School standout Pat Lewandowski, this week's LSC player of the week, had 11 and ex-IWA standout Lorie Martinez added 10.

Thibodeaux had 12 rebounds and tied Green for game best.
The Javelinas will take on Eastern New Mexico Saturday night in Portales, N.M., in an LSC South Division matchup.
