C.C. raid on Monroe players continues
IceRays snag 6-2, 210-pound defenseman Jason Carriere from the Moccasins
From staff and correspondent reports
The Corpus Christi IceRays continued to seize former Monroe Moccasin players with Wednesday's signing of defenseman Jason Carriere.
In two seasons with the Moccasins, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Carriere has recorded three goals and 16 assists.
"To win a championship you need to have good team chemistry, but you especially need to have a solid defense," IceRays coach Dale Henry said. "Jason is a player that should adapt to the Igloo quickly. He is a defenseman that uses his size and strength to push opponents around, while never giving up the blue line."
Last week, the IceRays signed former Monroe players Jason Smith and Ryan Prentice.
