IceRays sign WPHL veterans Solari, Dumoulin to roster

From staff and correspondent reports

The IceRays made a pair of roster moves Thursday, trading for Monroe right winger Kelvin Solari and signing defenseman Mario Dumoulin.
Solari, acquired from Monroe for future considerations, is a five-year veteran who spent the last two seasons with the Moccasins. The 26-year-old Ontario native scored 17 goals and had seven assists, along with 210 penalty minutes, in 52 games last year.
"With the style of hockey that (IceRays head coach) Taylor (Hall) likes to play, I think I can have a big year," Solari said. "I want to have 40-50 points and 200 penalty minutes."
Dumoulin, also 26, has seen previous action with two WPHL teams, Abilene and Odessa. In 68 games last year with Huntsville of the CHL, he totaled 47 points (41 on assists) and 263 penalty minutes.
"I'm very proud to be playing in Corpus Christi," Dumoulin said. "This is an unbelievable opportunity, and with the team we have in place I think we can win a championship."
The IceRays' regular season begins Oct. 12 against Fort Worth at Memorial Coliseum.
