Beauchamp, Vinson earn postseason honors from A&M-Corpus Christi

Stuart Beauchamp and Lindsay Vinson were named the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Koch Industries' Outstanding Male and Female Scholar Athletes.
   Beauchamp led the men's tennis team to an 18-5 record in its second season of competition, finishing 20-10 in singles play and 17-6 in doubles. The Tasmanian native, who was nominated for GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America consideration, has a 3.3 grade point average at A&M-Corpus Christi.
   Vinson, a women's golfer, had a 92.1 scoring average, including back-to-back 85's at the Northwood/Hidden Oaks Collegiate. Also nominated for Academic All-America consideration, Vinson graduated last week with a 3.81 GPA in pre-med.
   A&M-Corpus Christi announced several other post-season awards, listed below.
  
   BASEBALL
   Co-MVPs: Jeremy Fuller, jr., 9-3, 4.81 ERA, 53 strikeouts; Orlando Ruiz, .401 avg, 4 HR, 39 RBI.
  
   MEN'S BASKETBALL
   MVP: Michael Hicks, 22.2 ppg, 9.2 rpg.
   Most Improved: Damian Kirkaldy, 7.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg.
  
   WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
   MVP: Mandie Vinck, 5.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.9 apg.
   Most Valuable Volunteer: Keisha Cornelius, 4.2 ppg, 1.8 rpg.
  
   WOMEN'S GOLF
   MVP: Melissa Newman-Gillespie, 82.9 avg.
   Coach's Award: Liza Mucheru, 85.7 avg.
  
   SOFTBALL
   Co-MVPs: Christen Cook, .316 avg, 5 HR, 22 RBI; Rachel Mendez, .344 avg, 4 HR, 35 RBI.
  
   MEN'S TENNIS
   MVP: Stuart Beauchamp, 20-10 singles, 17-6 doubles.
   Most Improved: Alex Johansson, 22-6 singles, 11-8 doubles.
  
   WOMEN'S TENNIS
   Pillar Award: Denise Amagan, 20-9 singles, 12-14 doubles.
   Coach's Award: Melissa Cucciniello, 9-17 singles, 6-17 doubles.
