Dallas loses Morrow for rest of playoffs
Associated Press
DALLAS - Dallas forward Brenden Morrow will miss the rest of the playoffs after breaking his right ankle in the Stars' loss in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals.
The rookie left wing left the ice Saturday night in the final two minutes of the Colorado Avalanche's 2-0 victory. Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said Sunday that Morrow will not play again this season.
Morrow, like the rest of the Stars, had a rough game. He took two penalties in the first period that negated power-play opportunities for the defending Stanley Cup champions.
His third penalty of the game, for running into goalie Patrick Roy midway through the third, further thwarted Dallas' chances at a comeback.
Hitchcock said he was unsure who would replace Morrow in the lineup for Game 2 on Monday.
Morrow had 14 goals and 19 assists during the regular season and two goals and four assists in the playoffs.
