A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team in eighth at Oral Roberts Invite

The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team stands in eighth place after the first round of the Oral Roberts Invitational in Broken Arrow, Okla. on Monday.
Arkansas-Little Rock took the early lead, carding a 302. North Texas and Northeast Oklahoma State are tied for second at 320.
Freshman Liza Mucheru led the Islanders with a career-best 78, placing her seventh among individuals. The Nairobi, Kenya native's previous best round was an 81 last fall.
Melissa Newman-Gillespie was second among the Islanders with an 89, while teammate Lindsay Vinson carded a 92.
The tournament's final round is today.
