Brahmas skate past 'Rays, 5-2
Ft. Worth wins first game of mini-series

FORT WORTH - So much for round one.
Corpus Christi lost to Fort Worth, 5-2, Friday in the first of three consecutive games on the Brahmas' home ice.
The two teams will play today and again Tuesday.
Stephane Larocque and Steve Tseplis scored two goals each and the Brahmas scored on four of their five power-play chances to give Fort Worth its first victory in six games.
Fort Worth improved to 28-32-4 (60 points).
Corpus Christi fell to 33-24-8 (74 points). The IceRays locked up a playoff berth Thursday with a 4-2 home victory against Monroe.
Corpus Christi is just four points behind Austin (36-23-6, 78 points) in the Western Professional Hockey League Central Division race. The Ice Bats will visit Memorial Coliseum next Wednesday and Friday.
IceRays forward Kurt Wickenheiser recorded his 59th goal in the loss.
Fort Worth's power play caught fire in the second period, scoring three consecutive goals.
Larocque scored twice on the man advantage and Tseplis scored once to give the Brahmas a 3-0 lead.
Fort Worth added to its lead with six minutes to play before the second intermission when Ross Harris scored his 47th of the year.
After the fourth Fort Worth goal, IceRays coach Taylor Hall pulled starting goalie Eddy Skazyk (19-13-5) and replaced him with Jason Genik (14-11-3). Skazyk had won his previous seven decisions.
Darryl Olsen scored his sixth goal of the year with five seconds to play in the second period to finally put the IceRays on the board.
Corpus Christi outshot Fort Worth, 15-7, in the first period, but neither team scored in the first 20 minutes.
