Kolomeyev beats former team, 4-3

IceRays kick off road trip by beating Brahmas

From staff and correspondent reports

FORT WORTH - Alex Kolomeyev made the most of his homecoming.
The former Fort Worth Brahmas forward scored the game-winning goal against his old teammates as the IceRays defeated Fort Worth, 4-3, Friday night at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The victory gave Corpus Christi (23-18-8) sole possession of third place in the Western Professional Hockey League's Central Division with 54 points. It was the IceRays' fifth straight road game and the first of a three-games-in-three-days road swing. Corpus Christi, 7-2-1 in its last 10 games, plays at Lubbock today at 7:05 p.m.
Fort Worth, which traded Kolomeyev to Corpus Christi earlier this month, fell to 24-21-4 and dropped into last place in the WPHL Central Division with 52 points.
IceRays goalie Jason Genik got the win, improving to 11-8-3. Genik is 5-0 in his last five decisions.
Corpus Christi took a 2-1 lead after the first period behind goals by Dustin McArthur and Brad Wingfield. Kolomeyev assisted on McArthur's goal, his 19th, 2:14 into the game to give Corpus Christi a 1-0 lead.
Wingfield, playing in his first game back from a wrist injury, scored his 12 goal, assisted by Tobin Praznik, to give the IceRays a 2-0 lead with 11:57 to play in the first period.
Fort Worth scored last in the period, however, as Jason Disher cut the Corpus Christi lead in half, 2-1, at the 15:30 mark of the first period.
The Brahmas took a brief 3-2 lead in the final minute of the second period after goals by Bobby Pochyly and Ross Harris.
The IceRays tied the game, 3-3, nine seconds later on Bob Quinnell's eighth goal of the year.
