Symphony ball raises cash with a little swing
About 200 guests danced to music by the Sound of Swing at the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra's Symphony Ball 2000 on Friday night. The ball, held at the Corpus Christi Country Club, included a formal seated dinner with an open bar and live and silent auctions.
Organizers with the Symphony Guild estimate that the event helped to raise more than $40,000 for the symphony. Honorary chairpersons for the event were Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Flournoy.
