Lincecum says he'd bring business background to at-large seat

Lincecum
Mark Lincecum, an industrial salesman, has announced that he will run for an at-large seat on the Corpus Christi Independent School District Board of Trustees.
Lincecum, 44, a Corpus Christi native, said he is running because he wants to bring a business perspective to the board.
"I know the needs of the industrial community and how it can relate to education," he said. "I understand what technical and industrial jobs are available to students as alternatives to college."
As a board trustee, Lincecum said, he would also actively encourage parents and school faculty to become more involved in education.
Lincecum graduated from Ray High School in 1973. He received a bachelor's degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University in 1977.
Since 1981, Lincecum has sold industrial process control equipment for Puffer-Sweiven. He has also held previous industrial sales jobs for an Iowa-based company.
Other candidates for the three at-large seats are the Rev. Harry Williams, Isaac Valencia, Jonathan Valdez, Rosalinda Sosa Bonilla, Pinky Brauer, Bobby Canales, Dot Adkins, Ramiro "Gamby" Gamboa, Robert Hinojosa, William O. Childress, Veronica S. Gonzalez, Tony C. Diaz and Michelle Velasquez.
