Ramiro Gamboa announces run for CCISD at-large seat

Gamboa
Ramiro "Gamby" Gamboa, a radio technologist, has announced that he will run for an at-large seat on the Corpus Christi Independent School District Board of Trustees.
Gamboa, 50, said he is running because he wants to be an advocate for the children and ambassador for public education.
"Every child has the right to be educated in our school district," Gamboa said. "I am qualified because of the number of boards and councils that I have served on. I think I am able to agree to disagree on all issues and work toward solving the issues that will improve our schools."
Since 1970, he has worked as a radiology technologist at Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial. He has also worked as an X-ray technician for the Vela Medical Center since 1985 and as a radiology technologist at Columbia Hospital Inc. since 1989.
Gamboa's community service includes serving on the Nueces County Community Action board, the city's Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Bayfest board.
The other at-large candidates are the Rev. Harry Williams, Isaac Valencia, Jonathan Valdez, Rosalinda Sosa Bonilla, Pinky Brauer, Bobby Canales, Dot Adkins, Robert Hinojosa, William O. Childress, Veronica S. Gonzalez, Tony C. Diaz, Mark Lincecum and Michelle Velasquez.
