ALANIZ
ALICE, TEXAS -- Beatrice Parra Alaniz born December 30, 1914 and passed away September 29, 1999 in an Alice hospital after a short illness. She was 84 years old. She was a long time resident of Alice. She lived and followed the life of Christ. She was a retired homemaker and very active in church. She now joins Jesus in a very special place that he has prepared for her.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Garcia and three brothers, Ignacio Parra, Alfredo Parra and Juan Parra.
Beatrice will be sadly missed by all she met and knew. Her family and survivors include her daughter, Marie Audelia Chapa of Alice, Texas; her son-in-law, Richard Chapa of Alice, Texas; her two grandsons, Louis Rik (Terri) Chapa of Alice, Texas, Roel (Annalisa) Chapa of Alice, Texas; five great-granddaughters, Courtney, Andrea, Brooke, Ashylnne and Valerie Chapa all of Alice, Texas; four sisters: Carmen Lerma of Laredo, Texas, Trinidad Cantu of Laredo, Texas, Sara Lopez of Alice, Texas, and Irene Rivera of Alice, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 1999 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday October 1, 1999 at Primera Iglesia Asamblea De Dios located at 944 N. Adams St. in Alice, Texas and burial will follow at the Orange Grove Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas.
BELTRAN
Pauline Beltran, 85, passed away on Monday, September 27, 1999 in a local hospital.
She is preceded in death by her son, Manuel Estrada in September of 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Anaya of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Manuel Beltran of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Angelita McEntiry of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 1999 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening at the Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 1999 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Robstown Cemetery.
FLORES
David M. Flores, 36, of Corpus Christi passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 1999.
He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Rachel Flores; two sons, David Flores, Jr. and Felipe Flores; two daughters, Veronica Flores and Raquel Flores; mother and step-father, Belva and Rene Garcia; maternal grandmother, Guadalupe Munguia; five brothers, Raymond Garcia, Jaime Garcia, Rene Garcia, Roy Garcia and Jose Garcia; one sister, Belinda Guerrero all of Corpus Christi, Texas and a host of other relatives.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, September 30, 1999 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, Holly Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
Funeral procession will depart at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 1999 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
His sons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
FLORES
Ismael R. Flores, 71, of Corpus Christi, passed away on September 28, 1999.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Flores; a son, Francisco Flores and a sister, Amelia Barrientos.
He is survived by two sons, Juan Manuel (Janie) Flores and Phillip Flores of Houston; two daughters, Janie (Alex) Gomez and Rose Mary Barrera of Dallas.
He is also survived by his former wife, Eutimia Flores; four daughters: Mary Helen Flores, Otilia Garcia, Yolanda (Oscar) Molina and Maricela (Miguel) Viera; one son, Ismael (Sophie) Flores all of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Genaro (Carmela) Flores of Chicago, Illinois and Felipe (Alicia) Flores of Brownsville, Texas; five sisters: Carmen Ybanez of Corpus Christi, Maria C. Flores of Weslaco, Texas, Bertha Ovalle of Houston, Texas and Gloria Flores of Brownsville, Herminia (Raymundo) Sierra of Houston, Texas; 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, September 30, 1999 from 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be recited that evening at 7:30 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home.
A Funeral Procession will depart at 12:30 p.m. on Friday October 1, 1999 for a 1:00 p.m. Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Bobby Trevino.
GARCIA
Andres "Chato" Garcia, 60, of Corpus Christi, passed away in a local hospital on September 28, 1999.
He is survived by his mother, Marcela Garcia of Corpus Christi; one son, Andres Garcia, Jr. of Corpus Christi; four brothers: Julian, Joe, Juan, and Manuel Garcia all of Corpus Christi; four sisters: Maria Luna, Rosa Serna, and Susie Garcia all of California and Isabel Castanon of Corpus Christi.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, September 30, 1999 from 12:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be recited that evening at 6:30 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home.
A Funeral Procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 1999 for a 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Rafael Garcia, age 58, passed away on Wednesday September 29, 1999 in Mathis, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Lupe Garcia; daughter, Sandra Garcia; son, Armando Garcia all of Mathis, Texas; daughter, Lee-Ann Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Anita Munoz; son, Rafael Garcia, Jr. both of Mathis, Texas; his mother, Cipriana Garcia; six brothers: Roman Garcia of Mathis, Texas, Thomas Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas, Julian Garcia of Mathis, Texas, Adolfo Garcia, Rupert Garcia both of San Antonio, Texas, Daniel Garcia of Mathis, Texas; five sisters, Dymantana De La Cruz, Celestina Garcia, Dionicia Grandos, Anita Olivares and Alicia Garcia all of Mathis, Texas.
A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at Primera Iglesia Baptista in Mathis, Texas with visitation ending at 9:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday, September 30, 1999 at Primera Iglesia Baptista with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Descanso Enterno II in Mathis, Texas.
GARZA
Angelita Garza, of Corpus Christi, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 1999. She was 88.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Hermilo Garza.
Her survivors include six nephews: Francisco (Alicia) Macias, Ernesto (Cipriana) Macias, Carlos (Velia) Budd, Raul (Carmen) Budd, Richard (Alicia) Martinez, all of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Emilo Martinez, of Houston, Texas; and five nieces: Josie (Juan) Garcia, of California, Minerva Budd, Susanna (Manuel) Escamilla, Lucy (Ramiro) Morin, and Julia (Nick) Medina, all of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 1999, at the Angelus Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 1999, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment to follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
HINOJOSA
Mrs. Maria P. Hinojosa passed away on Monday, September 27, 1999 in West Covina, California at the age of 88. She was born on March 13, 1911 in Brownsville, Texas. She was a life long resident of Corpus Christi and was employed as a waitress at Labor Temple Caf‚ and the Compress Cafe. Her hobby was gardening.
Mrs. Hinojosa is survived by her daughter: Alicia B. (Polo) Garcia of Covina, California; three grandchildren: Mary Alice Tyler, Andrew and Gilbert Garcia all of California. Her family includes 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hinojosa is also survived by her sister, Barbarita P. Balli of Corpus Christi and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 1999 at Memorial Funeral Home, Holly Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.
Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 1999 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
HOPKINS
Born to James Lester Johnson and Juanita Daniel Johnson in Hobart, Oklahoma. She married C. Lynn Hopkins, a young Baptist minister on August 22, 1934. She met him while playing the piano for his services.
Lolita graduated from Lone Wolf High School, Lone Wolf Oklahoma in 1933. She and Lynn attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1941. The state of Oklahoma certified her to teach English and Speech. She loved teaching the kindergarten children the most.
She was an Army Chaplain's wife who moved when her husband did. Lolita spent many years serving as Sunday school teacher. Lolita volunteered for many hospitals for more than 20 years. When stationed in Europe from 1954-1957, Lolita volunteered with the Gray Ladies hospital volunteers in France. Lolita served as President of the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Auxiliary from 1983-1985.
Mount Gilead Baptist Church and Snyder Memorial were Lolita's Spiritual home's during her retirement years in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In Corpus Christi, Texas she was a member of the Priscilla Class at First Baptist Church.
Lolita loved her piano and singing in the church choir. Her choir group made many trips together. She also loved yellow roses and butterflies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lester and Wayne Johnson, and her husband, C. Lynn Hopkins.
She is survived by her son, James L. Hopkins of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandsons, Trevor L. Hopkins of Portland, Texas, Sean L. Hopkins of Austin, Texas; and her granddaughter, Heather Hopkins of Corpus Christi, Texas; great-grandsons, Andrew and Britton Hopkins of Corpus Christi, Texas and her loyal dachshund, Christopher Tarheel.
A memorial service was held Saturday September 18, 1999 at First Baptist Church in Corpus Christi.
Graveside services were held at Mount Gilead Baptist Cemetery with visitation at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on September 25, 1999.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oklahoma Baptist University Scholarship Fund for Ministry students, 500 W. University, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804 or the American Cancer Society in Lolita's name.
MORALES
Thomas Morales, 26, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Friday, September 24, 1999.
He was a 1992 W.B. Ray High School graduate; after graduating from High School he attended Del Mar College and also attended MCC in Florida where he received his Dental Lab Technician Certification. He was working to obtain his Bachelor's Degree. Mr. Morales was a volunteer at the Sarasota, Florida YMCA where he had lived for the last six years.
Survivors include his parents, Guadalupe and Dolores Sanchez of Corpus Christi; mother, Dora Rojas of Corpus Christi; sister, Maggie Cardona of Sarasota, Florida; two brothers, Edward Morales of Corpus Christi and Timothy Morales of Sarasota, Florida; maternal grandmother, Julia Rojas of Corpus Christi; two nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
The Family will be receiving friends from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Memorial Funeral Home, Crosstown Chapel.
A Rosary and Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Memorial Funeral Home, Crosstown Chapel.

Duane G. Pumphrey, 64, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 1999 in Beaumont, Texas.

RAMIREZ
Julian G. Ramirez, 65, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at his residence. He was born in Odem, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Julian was a mechanic.
He is preceded in death by this brother Juan G. Ramirez of Corpus Christi, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Guadalupe P. Ramirez, his four children, Julian (Alma) Ramirez, Jr., Carlos (Yolanda) P. Ramirez, Rosie (Roel, Sr.) Figueroa, Belinda (Hector) Aguilar all of Corpus Christi; 13 grandchildren, Julian (Kim) Ramirez, III, Michelle (Michael) Rodriquez, Adam Ramirez, Daniel Ramirez, Carlos (Christina Ramirez, Jr., Valerie Ramirez, Jeremiah Ramirez, Adelina Ramirez, Sara Ramirez, Roel Figueroa, Jr., Angelina "Angel" Figueroa, Gerardo Ramirez, Joseph Aguilar; 5 great-grandchildren, Joel Ramirez, Elena Ramirez, Nicholas Rodriquez, Alejandro Rodriquez and Matthew Ramirez; one brother, Juan G.
