Bowman takes third in Southern Texas Club Professional Championship
Corpus Christi's Steven Bowman shot a 145 for two rounds (73-73) to finish one shot behind Robert Thompson, who fended off Chuck Westergard in a one-hole playoff to with the Southern Texas Club Professional Championship Tuesday.
Bowman qualified for the Southern Club Professional Championship, to be played Oct. 14-17 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Seagrave to enter ITU World Championships in Montreal
Corpus Christi's Matt Seagrave is scheduled to compete at the International Triathlon Union World Championships in Montreal September 11-12. Seagrave, who will enter in the 16-19 age group, earned his spot with a fourth-place finish at the National Junior Championship, held in July in Roswell, N.M.
More than 1,500 athletes ages 16-84 will represent more than 80 countries at the event, which consists of a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike and a flat 10K run.
