Javelina volleyball team falls to Incarnate Word in five sets

KINGSVILLE - The Incarnate Word women's volleyball team rallied to take the fifth set, 15-9, and a 3-2 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville Tuesday night at the Steinke Center.
The Crusaders, who were opening their season, won the first two sets, 15-8, 15-9, before the Javelinas came back with 15-12 and 15-0 victories.
Heather Fife had 16 kills and a .464 attack percentage for the Crusaders, and Yvette Villanueva had 15 kills and a .500 percentage. Kenisha Reaux led the Javelinas with 19 kills and a .594 percentage, and Ada Ihelemu had 18 kills and a .485 percentage.
The Javelinas, who fell to 1-4 with the loss, will be entered in the Texas Woman's Invitational Tournament Friday and Saturday in Denton, playing two matches each day.
