Another loss for Javelinas
A&M-Commerce trips A&M-Kingsville, 14-10

KINGSVILLE - Texas A&M-Commerce quarterback Will Shaw threw a 55-yard pass to Mike Courville with 4 minutes, 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lift the Lions to a 14-10 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday night at Javelina Stadium.
The win, A&M-Commerce's first over the Javelinas in seven years, improves the Lions' Lone Star Conference South Division record to 2-2, and moves them to 2-4 for the season. A&M-Kingsville dropped to 1-3 in conference play and 1-5 overall.
A&M-Commerce's winning drive began at its own 7-yard line after the Javelinas were forced to punt. On second down, Shaw hit Melvin Crosby for a 19-yard gain, moving the ball to 26. Following an incomplete pass on first down, A&M-Commerce running back Ronnie Humphrey picked up 19 yards on three consecutive carries, putting the Lions at their own 45-yard line.
Under heavy preasure, Shaw hit Courville on a straight route down the middle. Courville lept free from the grasp of two Javelina defenders and ran untouched into the end zeon from 35 yards out.
A&M-Kingsville opened the scoring on their first possession of the game.
After holding A&M-Commerce to just 2 yards on the game's opening possession, the Javelinas took over at the Lions' 47-yard line following a 33-yard punt.
A&M-Kingsville tailback Derrick Foster picked up 25 yards on his first two carries, setting up a first down at the A&M-Commerce 27-yard line. The Javelinas moved inside the 20 on a pass from quarterback Abel Gonzalez to Teddy Carrier, but the play was called back for having an illegal man downfield.
Foster and fullback Mack Pittman picked up 12 yards on two straight carries before an 5-yard run by Foster picked up another for the Javelinas. From the Lions 15-yard line, Gonzalez and Foster were tackled for a combined loss of 6 yards on first and second down, but the Javelinas responed with Gonzalez's 21-yard touchdown to Carrier. Gregg Johnson's extra-point kick gave A&M-Kingsville a 7-0 lead with 8:50 left in the first quarter.
