GONZALES
   Anacleto "Clyde" Gonzales, 89, of Corpus Christi, passed away on Monday, October 4, 1999. He retired as a Corpus Christi Bus Driver after 32 years of service.
   Clyde as he was known to his friends and family is know to be the only bus driver to have received two state letterman jackets. The first was given to him by the 1959 W.B. Ray High School State Football Champions, and by the Roy Miller High School State Football Champs of 1960. He will be missed by the people whose lives he touched.
   Mr. Gonzales is survived by his wife Concepcion Gonzales of Corpus Christi; two sons, Gilbert "G.G." (Eufemia) Gonzalez and Daniel E. "Eddie" (Hermilla) Gonzales; two daughters, Mary (Alejandro) Garza and Bertha (Albert) Pardo, one brother, Encarnacion "Chon" Gonzales of Raymondville, Texas; two sisters, Maria Falcon of San Diego, California and Refugia Ybarra of Ohio; his grandchildren, Gilbert Gonzalez Jr., Robert Gonzales, Norma Tello, Alma Linda Roberts, Gloria Alaniz, Albert G. Pardo, Jr., Rene Roland Curiel, Christina Gonzalez, David G. Pardo, A.J. Garza and Melissa Garza, he is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
   Public visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
   Funeral Services are schedule for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 1999 at the Memory Gardens Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

BARNES
   Nannie Georgia Barnes, 80, passed away October 4, 1999. She was a member of Ayers Street Church of Christ and was a retiree from Litchensteins Department Store as a seamstress.
   Survivors include her cousin, Eula M. Shaw of Corpus Christi, Texas; a nephew, Peter George Coleman III of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Jackie Coleman of Corpus Christi, Texas and Iris Coleman of Dallas, Texas.
   In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Ayers Street Church of Christ.
   Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday October 6, 1999 at Unity Chapel Funeral Home.
   Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 7, 1999 at Ayers Street Church of Christ with Minister Robert Johnson officiating.
   Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

CARRILLO
   ROBSTOWN - Ernesto A. Carrillo, 65, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 1999 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a sudden illness. He was born on April 12, 1934 in Benavides, Texas to Daniel Carrillo, Sr. and Felicitas Lerma Carrillo. He served in the U.S. Army and was a School Administrator for the Robstown Independent School District for 39 years. Mr. Carrillo was a very loving and caring man who touched the lives of many. He will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends.
   He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Carrillo, Sr. and Felicitas Carrillo; two brothers, Daniel Carrillo, Jr. and Arnoldo "Quate" Carrillo; and a sister, Margarita Mendez.
   He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Madeleine Carrillo of Robstown, Texas; two daughters, Arlina (Jonathan) Aquino of Ft. Worth, Texas, Melissa Carrillo of Robstown, Texas; four sons: Ernest (Marivel) Carrillo, Jr., James (Patricia) Carrillo, Michael (Amy) Carrillo, and Paul Daniel Carrillo all of Robstown, Texas; one brother, Jesus Emede (Gloria) Carrillo of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sisters, Estella (Homero) Muguerza of Corpus Christi, Texas, Elvia (Jeff) Blum of San Antonio, Texas, Idolina (Ernesto) Pena of Benavides, Texas; and eight grandchildren: Ernest Escareno, Robert Hernandez, Elaina Beth Aquino, Nichole Carrillo, John Andrew Carrillo, Audrey Carrillo, Joseph Omar Carrillo, and Jonathan Wesley Aquino.
   A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 6, 1999 at Ramon Funeral Home in Robstown, Texas.
   The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 1999 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rene Hidalgo of Iglesia Christiana Bet El Church in Robstown, Texas officiating.
   Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery.
   Pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law, Richard Borchard, Ralph Borchard, Eddie Borchard, Ernesto Pena, Homero Muguerza, and Jeff Blum.

CROWDER
   ROCKPORT - Janice LaVerne Crowder, age 73, of Rockport, Texas died of cancer on October 4, 1999 at her home.
   She was born January 22, 1926 in Shickley, Nebraska to John and Delma Scheierman. She grew up around Shickley and completed her schooling in Sutton, Nebraska.
   On April 22, 1945 she married Walter M. Crowder at the Fairmont A.F.B. Chapel in Geneva, Nebraska. The following 19 1/2 years she was employed with the U.S. Government as an Executive Secretary and retired in 1974 from her position at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
   Following the death of her beloved husband in 1984, she moved from her Layton, Utah residence to Rockport, Texas. At the time of her death she was an active member of the Rockport First Baptist Church and had also served as a volunteer member of the Rockport Good Samaritan Center and was a member of the "Joy of Living" Bible Study Group.
   She is survived by her son, John M. Crowder of Chino, Hills, California; her daughter Karen Sue Crowder, a resident of the Utah Developmental Center in American Fork, Utah and her only sister, Geraldine Ackerman of Geneva, Nebraska. Other survivors also include her daughter-in-law, Judy Crowder; and five grandchildren: Jared, Justin Jordan, Jamilyn and Jason Crowder.
   Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 1999 at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas. There will be a special visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport.
   The graveside services will precede her interment at the Kaysville City Cemetery in Kaysville, Utah on Saturday, October 9, 1999 at 1:00 p.m.
   Memorial donations can be given to The American Cancer Society on her behalf.

ERMIS
   Fred Ermis, 88, passed away October 3, 1999 in a local hospital.
   A retired Navy C.P.O., he later worked at ARADMAC. He was a member of the Masonic Oso Naval Lodge and the Commandery 57 of the Knights of Templar of Texas.
   He is survived by his wife, Adele F. Ermis of Corpus Christi, Texas; step-daughter, Jean and her husband Byron Moore; stepchildren, Suzanne, Skip & Chad Moore all of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. John Beck and Mrs. Alice Hill both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and two nephews, Ron Hill of Milwaukee, Winconsin and Leo Ermis of Porterfield, Winconsin.
   A memorial service will be held at his birthplace of Pound, Wisconsin.

FUGMAN
   Sterling Lewis Fugman, born on November 5, 1926, passed away in a local hospital on Sunday, October 3, 1999.
   At 17 years of age, he fought valiantly at Okinawa aboard the USS Gosper while the kamikaze planes rained bombs over the ships. He reenlisted and served his country for a total of 20 years, retiring from the Navy in 1964 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. No one loved his country more than Sterling Fugman.
   He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Gwen Fugman.
   Sterling is survived by his loving daughter, Savanah Sue (Chuck) Truelove and his three grandchildren, Cody Casterline, Blithe Casterline, and Spencer Casterline, all of Port Aransas, Texas.
   He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ruby Fugman of Woodville, Texas; and his nieces and nephews Joan (David) Howard of Deer Park, Diane (Hank) Niscavits of Houston, Alice (Ronnie) Beshears of Houston, and Bill (Nan) Fugman of West Virginia.
   Friends may call between 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. Thursday October 7, 1999 at Jack Rowe Funeral Home.
   Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 1999 at the Funeral Home.

GARCIA
   Irene C. Garcia, 64, passed away on October 5, 1999 in a local hospital.
   Irene was born on February 5, 1935 in Willacy County, she was married to Guillermo (Billy) Garcia on October 5, 1955. She retired from the Corpus Christi Independent School District after 27 years of service. Mrs. Garcia was a devoted wife, mother and loving Nanny to all her grandchildren.
   She is survived by her husband, Billy Garcia of Corpus Christi; five children: Terry Tijerina of Coravllis, Oregon, Tammy Cassidy, of Pflugerville, Texas, Billy Garcia and Charles Garcia both of Round Rock, Texas, Delia C. Smith of Torrance, California; her loving grandchildren, Jeremy Garza, Matthew Garcia, Angela Garcia, John Garcia, Nick Garcia and Alex Garcia; two sisters, Helen DelBosque of Merriam, Kansas and Delores Kollanda of Ocala, Florida.
   Public visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 1999 at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
   Funeral Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Friday October 8, 1999 at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
   Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory.
   She will be missed.

KNOSTMAN
   ROCKPORT- Gary J. Knostman, 56, of Rockport, Texas, passed away on October 4, 1999, in Aransas Pass, Texas. He was born in Houston, Texas on June 8, 1943. He was a resident of Rockport since 1973. He was a Bankruptcy Administrator who at one time handled the largest case load in the U.S. He was owner and managing partner of John's Energy & Republic Refining, LTD. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockport, Past President of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, and was a big supporter of the Rockport Pirate Club and the Athletic Department of Rockport-Fulton High School. He was the Campaign Manager for the Aransas County election of Congressman Ron Paul. He was a certified I.F.R. pilot and his wife was his faithful co-pilot and love of his life along with his children.
   He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Charlene Knostman, his three sons; Gary Thomas Knostman of San Diego, California, Ryan Knostman of Rockport, Texas, and Jack Hardy of Boca Raton, Florida, two daughters; Megan Knostman of Rockport, Texas and Stephanie Corley of Roswell, Georgia, his mother, Marian Knostman of Rockport, Texas, two brothers; John Knostman and wife, Shelly, and Roy Knostman, both of Rockport. He is also survived by two grandchildren, a host of other family members, loyal friends and dedicated employees.
   Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Rockport, Texas, on Friday, October 8, 1999, at 2:00 P.M. Rev. George Joehnk will officiate. Interment will be at Rockport Cemetery.
   Pallbearers will be Ryan Knostman, Tom Knostman, John Knostman, Charles McLead, Dennis Hull, Steve Russell, Larry Stutzman and Randy Williams.

NUNEZ
   Mrs. Aurora Molina Nunez, 83, died in a local hospital on October 4, 1999. She was a member of Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church.
   Surviving are her husband, Librado M. Nunez of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Maria Saenz of San Antonio, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Marcos (Veronica) Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas; and one sister, Agapita Figirova of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
   Visitation will be Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary being held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. October 6, 1999 at Cantu Funeral Home in the Angels of Memory Chapel.
   Private Services will follow.
   Funeral arrangement under the direction of Judge Manuel N. Cantu, Jr.

RICE
   Charles Douglas Rice, Sr. was born June 21, 1939 to Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Rice in Cuero, Texas. Graduated from Solomon Coles High School. Employed by PPG Chemicals.
   He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Charles Rice, Jr., Kevin Rice, and Kim E. Barnes all of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; one sister, Tommie La Rue of Corpus Christi; four brothers: Eugene Rice of Citrus, California, Marshall and Victor Rice of Corpus Christi and James Rice of Houston, Texas.
   Wake Tuesday October 5, 1999 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

TRUAN
   KINGSVILLE - Mr. Raul Rene Saenz Truan, Sr., 70, a resident of Kingsville, Texas, passed away Monday, October 4, 1999, in Kingsville, after a brief illness. Mr. Truan was an employee of the Missouri Pacific Railroad in Kingsville and Palestine, Texas from 1946 to 1959. Mr. Truan moved with his family to Houston, Texas in 1962 where he worked for Dresser Industries until his retirement in 1991. In 1991 he and his wife returned to Kingsville, Texas to care for his elderly mother and became a member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Kingsville. During his lifetime, Mr. Truan was a very active member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Houston on the corner of Avenue K and 75th Street. He served as the church treasurer for 26 years, youth counselor, Administrative Board President, council of ministries member, conference delegate for many years and in 1980 received the high honor of Vital Member. Mr. Truan, who was born May 8, 1929, loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the church until the day of his death. The day before he died, Mr. Truan and his pastor Eric Martinez looked for and purchased a copier for the church. After that, Mr. Truan purchased a new mail box for the church. Mr. Truan participated in several Walk to Emmaus spiritual retreats. Besides leaving a host of friends. Mr. Truan is survived by his faithful wife of 52 years years, Emilia "Vita" Truan of Kingsville; his three children, Raul Rene (Ismelda) Truan, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Armida (Martin) Aleman of Austin, Texas, and Noel (Emily) Truan of Evans, Georgia. Mr. Truan also leaves seven grandchildren: Veronica (Roy) Desselle, Charles Truan, Monica Aleman, Esteban Aleman, Joel Aleman, Jacob Truan, and Robert Truan; and two great-granddaughters, Victoria and Elizabeth Desselle. He is also survived by three nephews, George, Carlos and Noe Truan. Mr. Truan is also survived by 26 nephews and nieces on his wife's side (the Pena's) of the family and one aunt, Evita Wise of Laredo. Mr. Truan is the son of the late Carlos and Alicia Truan. His two younger brothers, Noe and George, preceded him in death.
   A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 1999, at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville.
   Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 7, 1999, at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Martinez officiating.
   Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
   Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas is in charge of arrangements.

SCHUBERT
   Alma C. Schubert, 93, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 1999, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 5, 1906 in Vernon, Texas to Obediah and Nannie Capeheart. Mrs. Schubert graduated from Robstown High School in 1926 and married Adolph Schubert in 1933. Mr. Schubert preceded her in death in 1997, after sixty-three years of marriage. Mrs. Schubert worked side by side with her husband, Adolph, the founder and owner of Driscoll Lumber Co. and a home builder in the Bishop and Kingsville areas for many years. They resided on a farm in the Driscoll community until 1978 when they moved to Riviera Beach, and later to Kingsville.
   Mrs. Schubert was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingsville and was involved in numerous church activities. For many years, she was active in the Kingsville Bowling Association, Texas A & M Mother's Club (including service as a State officer), and the local TOPS Club. Mrs. Schubert was well-known for her crafts and artistic hand work, a past-time which she continued throughout her life.
   Mrs. Schubert is survived by her son: Carroll W. Schubert of San Antonio, Texas; one brother: Melvin Capeheart of Houston, Texas; one sister: Pearl Van Osten of California; two sisters-in-law: Clara Dietert and Ella Schulze of New Branfels, Texas, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
   Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 6, 1999, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingsville, Texas with Rev. Luisa Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.
   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsville, Texas.
