Mathis 41, Taft 20
TAFT - Clyde Veliz scored on a pair of long touchdown runs and racked up 232 yards on the ground as the Pirates (3-2) won big on the road.
Veliz, who averaged nearly 20 yards per rushing attempt, scored on a 66-yard run in the second quarter, then added a 76-yarder in the second half to lead Mathis, which piled up 376 rushing yards.
