Amy Coleman, 78, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 1999 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Coleman was a member of Brooks Chapel A.M.C. Church for more than 50 years. She was a life member of the N.A.A.C.P; an Alternate election Judge for Precinct 61, a member of the Heroines of Jericho; Order of the Eastern Star; member of A.A.R.P. #244; Spohn Memorial Auxiliary; League of Women Voters; Debs Mothers Club, Corpus Christi Interdenominational. Church Ushers; and Tract 16 Neighborhood Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Raymond D. Coleman of Corpus Christi, TX; her daughters, Dr. Paulette Coleman of Nashville, Tennessee, Linda (Marvin) Spears of Corpus Christi, TX; her sisters, Pauline Howard, Betty Edwards of Edna, TX; her grandchildren, Marcellus L. (Amy L.) Spears of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cedric D. Spears of Houston, Tx; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 1999 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Funeral servcie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 1999 at Brooks Chapel A.M.E.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial park.
Mary F. "Frankie" Halmess, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 23, 1999 at the age of 73. She was a kind, decent, loving mother and friend who loved movies, music and iced tea.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe "Coach" Halmess.
Survivors include daughters, Deanna (Dan) Williams of California, Donna Halmess of San Antonio, and Jody (Nolan) Peal of Corpus Christi. In addition to her daughters, she has one son, Chuck (Judy) Halmess of North Carolina. Additionally she is survived by nine loving and loved grandchildren, Eddie Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Jennifer Mireles and Richard Mireles of San Antonio, J.P. and Chuck Malumphy of California, Joe Halmess and Mandy Helms of North Carolina and Andy Peal of Corpus Christi.
Not a day will go by that she won't be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. Our only solace is that she's in a better place now and back in the arms of Coach Halmess.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 26, 1999, in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Lowe, Minister of Arlington Heights Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Rebecca Earhart Soto, 72, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 1999 in a local hospital nursing home.
Rebecca was born on February 11, 1927 in Corpus Christi, Texas to George Wyatt Earhart & Herminia Earhart. She is preceded in death by her daughter Terry Soto Reese, son, Robert E. Soto, Jr. and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert B. Soto of Corpus Christi, Texas; her daughters, Gail (Rick) Sanchez, Dora (John) Cantu, Yvette (Eugenio) Garza; her grandchildren: Robert G. (Rebecca) Soto, III, Richard A. Sanchez, Reynaldo G. Soto, Vito (Crystal) Leal, David G. Soto, Jennifer G. Sanchez, Damon (Lisa) Barnes, Alex (Carolyn) Soto, Brandee L. Flores, Rebecca A. Gonzalez, John Jay Cantu, Sloan V. Gonzalez, Mykaela T. Garza, Eugenio D. Garza; and 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation wil be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m on Friday, November 26, 1999 with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. that evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:oo p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 1999 at Christ the King Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Lucille G. Wilson, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on November 18, 1999 in Corpus Christi where she had resided since 1983. She was born on April 27, 1904 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wilson and her son, James Wilson.
She is survived by her children, Gerald (Rosemary) Wilson of Temecula, California, William (Hope) Wilson of Marietta, Georgia, and Susan (James) Revier of Corpus Christi; a sister, Marion Dettloff of Wayzata, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
